Pine Creek Goldrush 2008

After much consideration, Council has agreed that the Goldrush, in its present form, is no longer viable.

The Didgeridoo Festival component of the weekend will not be held in 2008, due to the small audience and performer numbers in recent years, and the NT Goldpanning championships will probably be reduced to a local championship.

Council is calling for expressions of interest from anyone who would be interested in forming a committee to bring new ideas and enthusiasm to the Goldrush.

Council will still support the Goldrush financially, logistically and with infrastructure, but welcomes ideas from the community on ways to develop the Festival into a smaller, community-based event.

11am - Local Goldpanning Championships in the Miners Park Creek - Competitions for Children, Beginners & Skilled Panners.

Saturday August 9th from 6.30pm

Free concert in the Miners Park by the Darwin Symphony Orchestra

Accommodation will be hard to find - bring a swag and tent
